This painting is about the contrast between elegance and reality. The idea of perfection versus the truth of being human. The queen is dressed in gold, there are beautiful flowers around her but the details tells us a different story. Her chaotic hair, sunglasses, a cigarette and an empty bottle of vodka reveal that even queens can be tired, chaotic, hungover, rebellious, and imperfect.

This work on paper is part of my Queen Series, in which queens, noblewomen, and princesses appear in unconventional poses and behaviors. Inspired by medieval visual traditions yet infused with modern elements such as sunglasses and cocktails, the series playfully reimagines female power, identity, and social roles.
